8 Artha Setu was rooted from Bodhi Artha Setu - a family fund based investor's group (non legal entity) bounded by the principle of unity within the Indonesia's minority traditional business practice also known as "Gongsi" in Chinese hokkien dialect or by the locals commonly known and pronounced as Kongsi.

The word "Artha Setu" came from sanskrit word "Artha" which means wealth and "Setu" which means bridge. 8 Artha Setu is formed to serve its purposes to support business entities and entrepreneurs to achieve their goals of success.
